Jan Scheele

At the age of 13, I embarked on my journey as an entrepreneur with my first online ventures. During my studies at Maastricht University, I expanded several businesses at the intersection of technology, communication, and events, establishing offices throughout the Netherlands. Recently, these companies have been consolidated under a new brand: The Mavens. With an extensive portfolio of national and international projects for clients ranging from hospitals, multinationals, and governments to non-profits, SMEs, and startups, we continue to serve a diverse clientele.

Since the inception of the TEDx concept, I have volunteered to organize 50 TEDx events worldwide, from Maastricht to Amsterdam and from Baghdad to New York. I shared my experiences in my Amazon #1 Bestseller, ExciTED. Over the past year, I’ve incorporated my TEDx/event expertise into The Mavens, where I’ve advised numerous organizations on event concept development, content and program strategy (curation), virtual and hybrid events, and customer experience.

With my experience coaching 200 TED speakers, I launched Talk like TED, through which I have had the opportunity to coach and guide over 3,000 professionals in areas such as public speaking, overcoming stage fright, virtual presentations, storytelling, and more.

Since 2015, I have been active in the blockchain/crypto sector and in AI since 2020. Currently, I serve as the CEO and co-founder of two companies in the blockchain/cryptocurrency industry. I frequently deliver keynotes and training sessions on these topics, have published numerous articles on Frankwatching (garnering over 1 million views), and am currently authoring a book covering #DeFi, #NFTs, #CBDCs, #Tokenization, #Stablecoins, global impact, opportunities for businesses, and possibilities for consumers. I am also involved with various international organizations focused on the development and adoption of these technologies.

In my spare time, I serve as a “Digital Leader” at the World Economic Forum, am a member of the Sandbox Network, and a board member of the Blockchain Netherlands Foundation.
